A living soul, reflected in painting …
(Painting by honored artist of Ukraine Alexander GUMENCHUK)
Sometimes (has voploshenie the development of interior; teaches design discipline in Khmelnytskyi national University), A.Gumenchuk has enough experience and as a muralist (performed various decorative works in the technique of sgraffito, murals, stained glass surround, ceramic panels in m. Khmelnytsky region and abroad). However, from the heart and soul over the last 15 years is principally engaged in the painting.
If you mentally “walk” scenic gallery wizard, notice that it still works every time relate to the real material world, although they are designated with a certain generality, monumentality, some distraction, because basically filled with diverse symbols. There are genres that A.Gumenchuk prefers – landscape, still-life compositions that combine landscape with historical reminiscences, domestic scenes. There are a number of topics that concern for years and each time find a new incarnation: the subject of the native land, its rich historical heritage, the theme of virginity in romantic love, the topic of shows, including a theatre and bullfighting, the theme of ecology with the idea of man’s responsibility before the world.
A.Gumenchuk knows the ornament. He, astonished at the beauty of the elements, not for the first year of collecting ornaments of all times and peoples. The author himself is the Creator of interesting ornamental motives. Ornaments of Tripoli have a large number of characters and symbols that are in a certain combination carry a deep meaning. Since there is a folk memory, Ukrainians decorated household items patterns, which formed the aesthetic tastes of generations, were an example of their hard work and artistic abilities. Passed and carried magical and religious meaning. Wanting to attract the gods, the people were urged by their respective signs, symbols and talismans, they also sought to deflect various trouble and adversity…
Among the many works of folk art the most used of all Ukrainians is the embroidery, and in particular, towel – long motif embroidered piece of cloth, as the road kind of human life that has always been inextricably linked to the beliefs and customs of the Ukrainian people.
The work done in recent years, marked largely by generalization, innuendo, have deep symbolic load, appeal to our great-great – memory, evoking memories and associations.
Painting A.Gumenchuk fully corresponds to the definition of art – depicts the life and attitude, reflecting all the nuances and movements of the soul of the artist.
